The Typographic Architecture of Clinical Luxury: Cherub Tricho on Fonts In Use

How contrasting Swiss modernism with classical serif geometry established an authoritative visual identity for London’s premier trichology sanctuary.
Designing for healthcare and medical wellness presents a unique positioning challenge: brands frequently over-index on sterile, clinical minimalism, or drift into decorative lifestyle aesthetics that erode medical credibility.
When Atin was commissioned to architect the complete visual evolution for Cherub Tricho — a clinical trichology flagship situated in Canary Wharf, London — our strategic objective was to establish an intentional brand persona: the "Minimalist Physician".
This persona balances scientific rigor with sensory, restorative calm. Today, that system has been formally archived and published on Fonts In Use, the international archive of typography and visual culture.
The Four-Tier Typographic Framework
To establish clear narrative hierarchy across physical architecture, clinical literature, and digital flagship touchpoints, Atin engineered a four-tier typographic system:
1. Primary Wordmark: Tenor Sans
The primary brand mark uses Tenor Sans, a high-contrast serif structure engineered to project understated luxury, balance, and poise. By refining the spacing, optical kerning, and clear-space parameters, the mark achieves the visual weight expected of a premier private practice.
2. Flagship Geographic Anchor: Neue Haas Grotesk Light
To ground the identity in London's financial and medical epicentre, the ‘LONDON’ sub-brand descriptor is set in Neue Haas Grotesk Light. Its Swiss modernist precision provides clean architectural contrast directly beneath the sculptural serif wordmark.
3. Clinical Data & Diagnostics: Inter
Patient consultations, clinical diagnoses, and digital booking interfaces require absolute legibility. Deployed in Light and Medium weights, Inter ensures that medical data, treatment timelines, and diagnostic parameters remain functional and legible across all digital viewports.
4. Apothecary & Narrative Warmth: Canela
To soften clinical precision across physical packaging and patient literature, Canela (Deck Light and Text Light Italic) was integrated as an editorial accent. Its warm, tactile letterforms give physical formulations and patient guidelines a sense of holistic care.
Physical Deployment: Canary Wharf Flagship
Typography cannot merely exist in digital brand guidelines; it must hold structural integrity when fabricated at scale.
For Cherub Tricho’s physical clinic, the typographic hierarchy dictated the architectural signage, opaque privacy glass installations, and interior directional wayfinding. Precision laser-cut metal lettering and balanced backlit illumination ensure that the primary mark projects authority along the Canary Wharf concourse day and night.
The complete typographic breakdown, typeface licenses, and architectural applications are permanently documented on the Fonts In Use Archive.
